Megacable - is it real?
I don't know if this is the correct forum for television-related stuff but if it isn't, I hope the Admin will move it to the right place.
Does anybody have any GOOD experiences with Megacable? I signed up the first week in November and I'm still waiting for my installation! We left specific instructions at the office that our install had to be on Mon, Tue or Wed and, of course, the installer showed up on Thursday of week 5, so we missed him/her. Since then we haven't been able to get anything except lies out of the office staff and we feel like we're being held hostage in our own house becasue we don't dare leave and risk missing the next "surprise visit." (He was supposed to call the day before the install but we've never heard from anyone. Megacable's only listed phone number has gone unanswered for days now. I also recently heard that there was a general Megacable outage in the Fidepaz area. Does anyone know anything about that?
My wife and I are both involved in computer-related businesses and when we moved from Todos Santos to La Paz we were looking forward to something faster than TelMex/Infinitum so if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

Re: Megacable - is it real?
Welcome to La Paz! Like all services, the quality of service and time of delivery will vary massively! And they never do it on your timetable, even when they act like they are planning on doing so. Unfortunately, you kinda just get used to it. They call New Mexico the "Land of Maņana". Baja is the "Land of La Proxima Semana"
Re: Megacable - is it real?
Yes, but if and when they do show up, am I going to have any service? Is there anything at the other end of the wire? There certainly isn't anything at the other end of their phone line or Web site! (My questions submitted via their Web site are also unanswered.)
I've actually answered my own question about Megacable, haven't I?

Re: Megacable - is it real?
Well, they may be entirely overwhelmed right now. No news about Megacable in SudCaliforniano. I think they just have lousy customer service BUT you will eventually get service. I don't know how their speeds hold up, but will be interested. TelMex is twice as slow and twice as expensive as my old service in the US. I just got some info at the Megacable office a few days ago. They are also in the process, as i understand it, of switching to digital cable boxes.
